NJ Women Step Up!
--March 28, 2013--
As you know, March is Women's History Month. As part of that celebration, the state party held a panel discussion last night at the College of New Jersey.
We had a great turnout

TCNJ College Democrats' Secretary Urvashi Banerjea interned for the state party last year. She also traveled with us to Charlotte as one of New Jersey's delegates to the Democratic National Convention, where she cast her vote to re-nominate President Obama and Vice President Biden as the Democratic ticket. Here's Urvashi, introducing Chairman John Wisniewski.

Chairman Wisniewski spoke about how Governor Christie's agenda has hurt women over the past three years.

Then he turned the program over to NJDSC's Vice Chair, Camden Mayor Dana Redd. Redd served as the moderator of the panel. The panel featured Senator Barbara Buono, Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt, and Somerset County Democratic Chair Peg Schaffer. They talked about the obstacles that face women who want to get involved in politics and run for office. They all made it clear that those challenges don't stop when you win, but it should not stop women in our tracks. As they shared their experiences, you could see young women in the room nodding and listening. We hope that these outstanding women inspire the next generation of women leaders and role models.

At the end of the evening, some of TCNJ's College Democrats caught Senator Buono for a picture

Governor Christie is on the Wrong Side of New Jersey Voters… and the Wrong Side of History
--March 28, 2013--
This week the United States Supreme Court considered 2 cases that could affirm the right to marry for LGBT couples. As you might recall, the Democratic Legislature voted to establish marriage equality in New Jersey in 2012. Governor Chris Christie vetoed the legislation. According to a poll out this week, 64% of New Jersey voters support marriage equality. It's about time they have a governor who shares their view. We can make it happen in November!

Defined as the sound uttered by a donkey, the Bray is dedicated to following the Democrats fight to keep New Jersey solidly blue.
