Just as he did more than a year ago, Gov. Chris Christie vetoed a bill today that would have for the first time set training standards for all first responders and regulate how emergency medical services are provided in New Jersey.

(TRENTON, NJ) – State Democratic Party Chairman John S. Wisniewski issued the following statement regarding Governor Chris Christie’s announcement of the process to fill New Jersey’s US Senate seat: “Democrats believe an election should be held in a timely manner, however in what appears to be a blatantly political move, the Governor would rather spend $12 million in taxpayer funds on a special election when a general election is scheduled for less than three weeks later.” said Wisniewski. “Chris Christie’s decision speaks more to his national political ambitions than his responsibility to the residents of New Jersey as Governor.” ####

A television advertisement funded using federal Sandy relief aid has begun airing on network television. The ad features Governor Chris Christie and his family. With New Jersey 2013 gubernatorial elections less than six months away, Governor Christie’s use of federal tax dollars for television airtime should be questioned.
