Chairman Wisniewski’s Statement on the Primary Results for the 10th Congressional District
(Trenton)- Today, primary elections were held throughout the state. In New Jersey’s 10th Congressional District, a contested Democratic primary was held to replace Congressman Donald Payne, who lost his battle with cancer earlier this year. His son, Donald Payne, Jr., won the primary election and is now the Democratic nominee for the 10th Congressional District. Assemblyman John S. Wisniewski, Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, released the following statement about the 10th Congressional District’s primary results:
“After a spirited campaign from a fantastic field of candidates, Democratic voters in New Jersey’s 10th Congressional District have chosen Donald Payne, Jr. as their nominee. I want to congratulate him and all of the candidates for a campaign worthy of the 10th Congressional District. I hope that all of the candidates will continue to be active participants in both the Democratic Party and the democratic process.
Congressman Donald Payne’s service to these communities will not soon be forgotten and I know that his son, Donald Payne Jr., will honor that legacy by serving the constituents of the 10th district with dedication and distinction. I look forward to helping elect Donald Payne Jr. to the United States Congress, along with President Obama, Senator Bob Menendez, and Democrats on the ballot throughout our state.”
