NJDSC Chairman Condemns Anti-Muslim Imagery at Islamic Centers in NJ

Chairman Jones says “Hate has no place in New Jersey”

TRENTON, NJ – In response to recent incidents where a truck with anti-muslim imagery was seen driving around several Islamic centers in the state, New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman LeRoy J. Jones, Jr. is releasing the following statement:

“On behalf of the NJDSC, I want to strongly condemn the recent attempts to intimidate our New Jersey Muslim communities with targeted public displays of anti-Muslim imagery. The NJDSC categorically condemns hate and bigotry in all forms and we will continue to call it out when we see it.

As we have continued to witness an uprise in anti-Muslim rhetoric within our political system, incidents like this remind us that we must continue to fight for a future where Americans do not fear retribution because of their religion (or race or gender or sexual orientation) and we are dedicated to advocating for our Muslim communities and making New Jersey a more diverse, safe, and fair place for every single person who calls our state home.”
