How to Register to Vote in New Jersey
To register to vote in New Jersey:
You must be a United States citizen.
You must be at least 17 years old, and understand that you may not vote until reaching the age of 18.
You must be a resident of the county for 30 days before the election.
You must NOT be currently serving a sentence, probation, or parole because of a felony conviction.
Mail or deliver the Voter Registration Application and/or Party Affiliation Form to the County Commissioner of Registration or Superintendent of Elections.
How to Look Up Voter Registration in New Jersey
The New Jersey Department of State website has a Voter Look Up Tool that serves as a search engine to see whether you are on New Jersey’s voter rolls. If you’ve recently registered, it could take a few weeks for your information to be added to the voter rolls. If it’s been more than a few weeks or if your information is listed incorrectly, contact your County Clerk.
